The International Conference Urban Transformation: Global Trends and Local Innovations will be held in Rotterdam on March 13, 2014 on the occasion of the grand opening of the Rotterdam Central Station, one of the most modern mobility hubs in Europe.

IABR–2014– is a main partner of the conference together with the City of Rotterdam, Rotterdam Central District, Rotterdam Partners, AIR and others.

Among the speakers are John Worthington (The Academy of Urbanism), Tim Rowe (Cambridge Innovation Center), Michael Shanks (Stanford University), Fred van Beuningen (Rotterdam Partners), Hans van Rossum (City of Rotterdam) and IABR–2014–URBAN BY NATURE curator Dirk Sijmons.
The Conference will be chaired by Jan-Peter Balkenende, former prime-minister of The Netherlands, and hosted by Jeannette Baljeu and Hamit Karakus, aldermen of Rotterdam.
