Utrecht: Transitions in the Healthy City

IABR–Atelier Utrecht

IABR + Municipality of Utrecht

In Utrecht, creating a healthy city has been high on the political agenda for decades. The population of Utrecht is considered one of the healthiest in the Netherlands. However, within the city there are stark contrasts. How can the city deal with these persistent differences? IABR–Atelier Utrecht has researched the opportunities to challenge these differences. How can the city develop policies for a healthy and socially inclusive city? And which alliances need to be formed?

The morning is opened by George Brugmans, Executive Director IABR and Paulus Jansen, Alderman for Spatial Development of the Municipality of Utrecht. Led by Atelier Master Joachim Declerck (Architecture Workroom Brussel), Wouter Veldhuis (MUST Stedebouw) and Paul Vermeulen (De Smet Vermeulen architecten) will share the insights from the IABR–Atelier Utrecht research by design trajectory.

Afterwards you can visit the exhibition.
