Towards Energetic Living #03

From technical to cultural challenge

AIR

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances the lecture by Marjan van Aubel had to be cancelled.
Consequently, AIR decided to turn the meeting into a closed work session.

In the context of the IABR–2018+2020–THE MISSING LINK the Architectuur Instituut Rotterdam (AIR, Rotterdam Architecture Institute) hosts three evenings of lectures and debate on the interface of architecture, the energy transition, and the everyday living environment

Current Table - Marjan van Aubel

The built environment is responsible for more than 30 percent of gross energy consumption, which makes it the largest end user of all sectors. Consequently, our everyday living environment is the field of activity of an urgent energy transition. But an energetic cultural change is hardly underway. What can we learn from the hopeful light-footedness of architectural experiments and how does Rotterdam not only ensure that any new housing is constructed in an energy-neutral way from now on, but that the existing city makes the transition as well?
