Today Leo Van Broeck, Flemish Government Architect and co-curator of IABR–2018 + 2020–THE MISSING LINK, shows ‘his’ film Planning for Place (Plannen voor Plaats).

In this film, director Nic Balthazar and Flemish Government Architect Leo Van Broeck take the viewer on a trip through Flanders, in search of innovative spatial projects and fresh ideas about the design of our environment. If we want to achieve our climate and energy objectives, offer the coming generations a future, and safeguard biodiversity, we will have to think differently about housing and building, about development and mobility. The film shows that this transition does not have to be characterized by budget cuts, austerity, or loss, but can actually provide the key to a more pleasant, healthier, better equipped, and more inclusive environment.

After the screening, Van Broeck will elucidate the ideas behind the film and discuss them with the public.
