What opportunities will the major social transformations that the Euro Delta faces, offer us? How can we jointly develop strategies for spatial transformations on the basis of challenges and values we share? How do we involve all stakeholders?

Today, the Flanders Environmental Department, the Team Flemish Government Architect, the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and the Board of Dutch Government Advisors will present the results of their joint research, The Low Countries 2020-2100 – Exploring the Future.
The study report includes an atlas in which the Euro Delta’s seven (basic) assets, and their very specific spatial impacts, are presented. Research by design has laid the foundation for a joint agenda that includes strategies for transitions in the fields of energy, mobility, food production, and urban manufacturing economy.

In conjunction with the research results published in Designing The Future (see our webshop), The Low Countries 2020-2100 is point of departure for the agenda of the Delta Atelier, initiated by the IABR, Architecture Workroom Brussels, and the Dutch and Flemish Government Architects.
